Full and Part Rewires

Typically electrical installations have a ‘lifespan’, as with most electrical appliances and products. This can vary and depends on a number of factors including the quality of the work carried out, and the type of system and wiring installed.

ADY ELECTRICAL Limited are NICEIC Domestic Installers and NICEIC Approved contractors, qualified to test, inspect and certify your system to determine whether wiring and fuse board installations are safe and compliant with current regulations.

Many people consider a rewire to be a major undertaking, and so often leave electrical boards and circuits until a fault develops before having a system checked. This is not recommended as many faults develop with no noticeable symptoms, and can result in electrical shock or fire.

This need not be the case, as regular inspection and testing can keep your circuitry safe and prolong the life of your installation, as parts, wires, appliances and fuse boards can be replaced without carrying out a complete overhaul of your entire electrical system.

Part rewires are often the suggested solution, where the older or failing part(s), wiring or fuse board within an electrical installation can be replaced without disturbing the rest.

Full rewires

When a system has become completely unusable or unsafe, a complete rewire may be the only solution. This is often the case with older circuitry, installed before the proliferation of electrical appliances within the home and office, ort for high power demands for industrial machinery. Older boards are often incapable of sustaining the higher power demands of today.

However, a full rewire need not be as daunting as many people expect. ADY ELECTRICAL Limited can complete all the planning, working with you to find the best and most cost effective solution to suit your requirements.

Once a satisfactory plan has been determined, our fully qualified NICEIC registered electricians can complete the work in one go over a relatively short period of time (depending on the size of installation), and with as minimum disruption as possible.

You can check the basic list below to determine if you may need to consider a rewire:

  • Does your fuse board have replaceable wire?
  • Do plug sockets in your house get hot or have scorch marks?
  • Do the fuses within your installation blow regularly?
  • Do you have to use extension and adaptors due to a lack of socket outlets?
  • Do you have fitted lights that use the old twisted type flex and/or round pin plugs and sockets?
  • Are your fitted cables missing and earth cable?
  • Has your wiring and fuse board been checked in the last 5 years?

We would always recommend having your electrical wiring and fuse board regularly checked for your own safety and piece of mind. For advice or to arrange a free quotation, please contact us.
